He hated it when his duties took him away from his love. It was
unfair that they should be separated for so long; even if he knew
that the job they both did for Elrond and Rivendell were important.
He had to constantly remind himself of that so that he wouldn't get
cranky and take it out on someone.

Now he was heading home, and if Elrond thought he was going to
depart for an extended period again within the next six months then
their lord was seriously mistaken.

Riding down the path that would lead him home and to his lover; he
took a deep breath and enjoyed the smell of pine that permeated
downwards from the forest on the small cliff above the path. Nothing
smelt better as it meant he would be in the courtyard in a few
minutes.

The only thing he had eyes for those minutes later, was the elf
standing at the bottom of the stairs bouncing slightly in place. As
impatient as him to be reunited.

In a matter of moments they were in each others arms. Erestor liked
Lorien; he really did but he loved home; and Glorfindel more.
