****************

To say that Glorfindel was in a bad mood was to put it mildly. For
the better part of a week he had been discussing inter-realm
relations with King Thranduil and he was worn out.

In truth, Thranduil wasn't so bad. Just protective to the point of
paranoia and so getting things to his satisfaction was exhausting.

As a rule Glorfindel wouldn't have minded - if it had been his job.
But no, it was supposed to be Erestor feeling as though he'd been
trampled by an Oliphant, not him!

He sighed; it was all so humiliating! Ever since Erestor had
discovered that he slept with Medli - an ancient teddy bear, he'd
been insufferable. Blackmailing him with threats of telling everyone.
He'd promised to drop it now that Glorfindel had dealt with the King
of Mirkwood, even letting him off of dealing with Galadriel, but that
wasn't enough for the Balrog-Slayer. Oh no. He wanted revenge.

****************

Months passed and Glorfindel kept his eyes open for any opportunities
that arose. But Erestor was either careful or very lucky, for nothing
happened that he could use to his advantage. He began to get
frustrated.

Eventually, he decided to take matters into his own hands. Erestor
had found the secret of his room - so the counsellor's own room had
to hold something that he could use! Maybe Erestor secretly had a
cupboard full of pink robes that he only wore at night!

Oh yes, that was an amusing thought! Actually the very thought of
Erestor in pink made him chuckle. He'd look like such a - well, a
girl!
Hmmm. Maybe if he didn't find anything he'd have to procure some pink
robes anyway!

With his mood much improved he went back to his office to make his
plans. He'd have to be very careful. To get caught could be
disastrous, especially if it was before he found anything!

As such, it was a week before he got his chance. Erestor was doing
the paperwork for a new horse-trading agreement with Rohan. It was a
big and urgent job; he would not be leaving his office for some
hours. It was perfect for Glorfindel, who couldn't wait to sneak into
his room.

Having checked that Erestor was indeed safely tucked away; the Balrog-
Slayer crept along the halls, rubbing his hands in excitement. One
way or another, he was going to get his revenge!

The residents of Imladris rarely had cause to lock their door and
Erestor was no exception. Glorfindel entered the room without any
problems at all and paused only to shut the door again before
starting his explorations.

An hour later he was extremely frustrated. Creating his revenge out
of his own imagination wasn't nearly as satisfying as having
something real, but he couldn't find anything to hold against Erestor
at all! No pink robes, naughty love-letters, not even a diary!
Honestly how could one person be so boring? No wonder he got his
thrills through blackmail!

"He needs a life," Glorfindel muttered as he turned to leave,
wondering how he was going to get an Erestor-sized robe in pink.

He almost missed the white, fluffy foot that poked out from under the
bed.

"What in Eru's name?" he mumbled as he bent down, reached out for
whatever it was and pulled it towards him.

When he saw what he was holding, he almost passed out.

It was a toy. But not just any toy. It was a small, white, fluffy -
bunny. There was even a pink bow around its neck.

"MANWE'S BALLS, THAT SON OF AN ORC!" he bellowed, forgetting about
stealth, secrecy and all such things. After all that teasing and
blackmail, Erestor had been hiding a fluffy little secret of his own!
Fortunately, there was no one within earshot or his chance at revenge
may well have fallen apart right then.

After staring at the bunny for a few moments, a plan began to form in
Glorfindel's mind. This was perfect. more subtle than he'd intended,
but now he knew exactly how to get his revenge! After all, if Erestor
was to his bunny as he was to Medli - it was easy!

Oh yes, this was going to be fun!

**************

At last, he could sleep. Erestor trudged wearily into his room and
got ready for bed. Slipping on a sleeping robe, he took the braids
from his hair and reached under the bed for his bunny. and came up
empty handed.

Erestor sat up sharply. Where was his bunny? Bending over, he peered
under the bed. He must have slipped a little further under, that was
all. but no. His bunny was *not* under the bed. An expression of
panic formed on Erestor's face? Where was he?!

Outside Erestor's room Glorfindel peered in through the window, one
hand clamped over his mouth as he tried not to laugh aloud at the
sight of Erestor's legs waving in the air as he draped off the bed to
look under it.

This was going to be more fun than he could have ever have imagined!

Leaving Erestor to frantically search his room, he slipped away into
the night. There was much to be done before morning - this was only
the start! By the time he was done, Erestor would rue the day he
messed with the Balrog-Slayer and his bear!

***************

"Look, look Ada! A bunny!"

Erestor jumped a mile at the word `bunny' and looked to see who had
spoken. His heart sank as he saw it was only an elfling, pointing
excitedly to a small brown rabbit nibbling on the grass nearby.

He sighed, just for a moment he'd thought. shaking his head he
refused to finish the thought. It was silly; there were many real
rabbits in Imladris, possibly because hunting was not permitted
within the borders.

Still, looking at it, he wondered if he could catch it and take it to
bed. after all, he had nice pillows and soft blankets. Turning, he
gazed at the small animal. Unfortunately, the rabbit caught wind of
his thoughts and seemed unimpressed, turning tail and bolting back
down his hole.

"Ungrateful furball," he muttered, stomping back inside the Last
Homely House. It had been two days since his bunny had disappeared
and he was starting to feel the strain. He just couldn't sleep
without his fluffy toy in his arms.

He sniffled at little as he walked; he missed Mr Bunny something
terrible! Oh where had he gone?

***************

Glorfindel forced back a snicker as Erestor entered the dining room.
He looked exhausted; it had been three days now since Mr Bunny had
come to stay with Medli - unbeknownst to Erestor of course!

He smiled sweetly as the councillor sat down, though he was
completely ignored by the cranky Elf, who only nodded as the servant
set a bowl down in front of him.

Scooping a spoonful into his mouth, he chewed thoughtfully, then
paused.
"What is this?" he asked, trying to discern the flavour.

"Rabbit stew," Glorfindel said and then wiped stew from his eye as
Erestor spluttered and sent his dinner flying into Glorfindel's face.
"I'm glad you're happy to share."

"Sorry," Erestor mumbled, abashed. He quickly pushed his plate aside.
Suddenly, he just wasn't hungry.

Glorfindel, however, ate with great gusto. It had been well worth
paying the chef to scrap the planned menu! Sooner or later this would
have to end, but for now - he was having far too much fun!

*************

Erestor had all but given up. It had been a week now since he had
last seen Mr Bunny. His dear, fluffy friend was gone. He wondered
what he was going to do. He had always slept with him and this last
week had been just terrible! At this rate he would never sleep again!

"Did you hear?" Two guards just coming off of duty were talking
cheerfully as they walked down the path. "Arasiel is expecting again!
Honestly, she and her husband are breeding like rabbits!"

He hadn't meant to hear, but he had. Letting out a strangled cry
Erestor ran for the safety of his room.

As he bolted the guards stared in bemusement.
"I had not thought it possible, but Lord Erestor has become even
stranger of late."

The other guard could only nod.

**************

It was, Glorfindel thought ruefully; probably time to end the joke.
That morning Erestor had called Lord Elrond `Lord Bunny' by mistake.
The expression on Elrond's face had been priceless, but it might
possibly be a sign that Erestor had reached breaking-point. Ah well,
it had been fun while it lasted! When Erestor was out of his room
he'd slip the bunny back under the bed. At least his confusion should
provide a last laugh!

It was later that evening when he got his chance to return the stolen
toy. Erestor was talking to Lord Bun, err, Lord Elrond and would not
be back for at least an hour.

Entering the room he quickly bent down and slipped the bunny far
under the bed and rose to leave. He smiled, wondering if Erestor
would say anything in the morning. He hoped he found him.

He had almost made it out when the door opened and Erestor walked in -
much, much earlier than he should have.

"Oh dear," Glorfindel thought to himself. It seemed he had made a
little mistake.

Erestor eyed up the Balrog-Slayer standing in his room. Well, how
interesting. He had no idea why Glorfindel was in his room, but right
now, it didn't matter. He needed something to sleep with and here
something was. A rather nice something too. Glorfindel was
attractive, cuddly and, well, he wasn't fluffy, but you couldn't have
everything.

"Bunny," he said.

Glorfindel looked confused.

"I'm sorry?" he asked.

Erestor glared and rolled his eyes.

"You are my bunny." He repeated. Deep down he was starting to suspect
that Glorfindel was responsible for his sleepless nights. Well, so be
it. He could still come out on top here; after all, Glorfindel was in
a rather compromising position.

"I am?" Glorfindel asked, wondering if Erestor had completely lost
his mind.

"Yes," Erestor replied, walking towards him. "You are. But bunnies do
not wear clothes." With that he started undressing a rather shocked
Glorfindel.

Now it would have taken little effort to push Erestor away and just
leave, but Glorfindel found he had no desire to do that. Especially
when Erestor pushed him firmly into the bed, got in behind him and
snuggled up as naked as he was.

Well, this was a nice surprise! He had no idea if Erestor would let
him back in this bed once he discovered that the missing bunny was
his fault, so he might as well enjoy it while he could!

"Ah, yes," Erestor sighed happily. "You make a good bunny."

Glorfindel smirked and snuggled up.

"I will be your bunny for as long as you like, just do not call me
Flopsy!"
