There's two things I know for sure
She was sent here from heaven, and she's Daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to the Valar and I close my eyes
And I thank Manwë for all of the joy in my life, oh but most of
all...
Glorfindel knocked softly on the door, opening it when he was bid to
enter. He closed the door softly behind him, his eyes welling up
with tears as he watched what was going on. His eyes met Erestor's
and he smiled at him, both of them so happy on this day, and yet so
sad. Today was the day they would lose their little girl.
As Glorfindel watched Erestor help Dinyaveiel make ready for her
wedding to Haldir, the Marchwarden of Lothlorien, he let his
memories take over.

For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
Walk beside the pony Daddy, it's my first ride
I know the cake looks funny Daddy, but I sure tried
Oh with all that I've done wrong, I must of done something right
To deserve a hug every morning, and butterfly kisses at night
"Glorfindel, it's time." Glorfindel moaned softly, then suddenly
his eyes went wide. It was time! He rushed Erestor to Elrond who
had one of the healing rooms ready for this moment. He had been so
worried that night, but Elrond had explained that a special opening
would form for the baby to pass through.
He could remember Erestor's anguished screams as wave after wave of
contractions over took his body. He had sat with him cradled in his
arms, his lover covered in sweat and cursing enough to make an orc
blush. After a full day and night, Dinyaveiel finally made her
presence known in the world.
He had looked upon her red wrinkly skin, jet black hair and bright
blue eyes and fell in love.

It's her Majority today
She's looking like her Ada, a little more everyday.
One part woman, the other part girl
To perfume and makeup, from ribbons and curls.
Trying her wings out in a great big world, but I remember...
Glorfindel watched as Erestor braided Dinyaveiel's hair, taming her
ebon ringlets into some semblance of order. He then placed small
piece's of babies breath into her hair. A simple mithril circlet
was then placed upon her head and she was shoo'ed off to put her
wedding dress on.
When she came back into the room, Erestor and Glorfindel both
gasped. She twirled shyly.

Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair.
You know how much I love you Daddy, but if you don't mind
I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time.
With all that I've done wrong, I must of done something right
To deserve her love every morning, and butterfly kisses at night.
"Glorfindel come quickly!" Glorfindel felt his insides flip over at
Erestor's frantic call. He ran into the nursery and stopped,
smiling at what he saw. Dinyaveiel was taking her first steps. She
raised her pudgy little arms towards him and shouted, "DA!" His
eyes filled with tears.
*************************
All the precious time, oh, like the wind the years go by.
Precious butterfly, spread your wings and fly.
"Do you wish for me to kiss it and make it better my love?"
Dinyaveiel nodded, her nose running from crying after she had taken
a fall and skinned her knee. Glorfindel had looked on as Erestor
bent down and gave the wound a kiss.
"Adar too." Came a snuffled pout. Glorfindel smiled softly and
came over to kiss the knee also. Dinyaveiel's tears instantly dried
as Glorfindel picked her up and the two of them hugged their
daughter between them.
*************************
"You look beautiful Dinyaveiel." Glorfindel pulled her into his
arms, hugging her.
"Thank you Adar." She whispered softly as Erestor came up and
joined in. She was soon wrapped in both of her Ada's loving arms,
her eyes bright.
*************************
She'll change her name today, she'll make a promise, and I'll give
her away.
Standing in the brideroom just staring at her
She asks me what I'm thinking, and I said I'm not sure.
I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl, and she leaned over...
"Adar I want to ride the horsey." Erestor watched in amusement as
Dinyaveiel once again wrapped Glorfindel around her little finger.
Glorfindel had tried to tell her to wait a few more years, but as
soon as she turned her big blue eyes to him and smiled in her
special way, Glorfindel was lost.
"Make it go faster Adar! Make it go faster!" Glorfindel would not
allow the horse to do no more than a soft canter much to
Dinyaveiel's dismay.
***********************
"Adar why are you crying?" Dinyaveiel asked Glorfindel as she wiped
a tear away with her finger. He pulled her close once again.
"I feel like I am losing my little girl." He blushed filling silly,
but he could not help himself. Erestor came to stand behind him,
warm arms wrapping around him. He leaned back into his embrace,
relishing their closeness.
*****************************
Gave me butterfly kisses with her Ada there
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair.
Walk me down the aisle Daddy, it's just about time.
Does my wedding gown look pretty Daddy? Daddy, don't cry.
Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must of done something right.
Erestor looked on with pride along with everyone else as Glorfindel
stepped forward facing his daughter with pride shining in his eyes.
"Dinyaveiel, it is with great pride and honor that today, the day of
your majority, I am able to welcome you as the newest member of the
Imladris Guard. May your service to Lord and Realm be honorable."
Watching as Dinyaveiel swore her oath to Lord Elrond and Imladris.

To deserve her love every morning, and butterfly kisses,
I couldn't ask Manwë for more, than this is what love is.
I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always remember...
Every hug in the morning, and butterfly kisses.
Now today was the day of her wedding. She and Haldir would bind
themselves and in one week's time, he would take her to her knew
home in Lothlorien.
"Does my dress look pretty Adar?" Glorfindel smiled.
"If you were not my daughter, I would marry you myself." Dinyaveiel
blushed at her Adar's words.
Both he and Erestor took their places, one on each side of her, and
escorted her to the glade that had been made ready for this.
Escorting her to this new phase in her life. Giving her hand away
in marriage to the one who now held her heart. Their soon to be law-
son, Haldir.
To deserve her love every morning, and butterfly kisses,
I couldn't ask Manwë for more, than this is what love is.
I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always remember...
Every hug in the morning, and butterfly kisses.
