Summary: Ice skating Elves.
A/N: This story came into being when I was talking to Tessa about a
movie I totally love. The movie is called Ice Castles. She made me
promise not to use the song lyrics and make this a ficlet...so I
will only use a snippet in the beginning and use the song for
something else.
Please don't let this feeling end
It's everything I am
Everything I want to be
I can see what's mine now
Finding out what's true
Since I found you
Looking through the eyes of love
~Nikka Costa-Theme from Ice Castles~
Glorfindel stopped at the edge of the tree-line, watching as the
many Elves laughed gaily while ice skating. He shook his head while
snorting to himself and crossing his arms. He could not understand
what it was they saw, with strapping blades to their boots and
risking serious injury from a fall on the ice, just to do this.
He perked up, his blue eyes narrowing, as he focused in on a certain
Elf who was laughing. He watched as Erestor skated a circle around
the young twins, wearing leggings, tunic and cloak for once, instead
of his typical robes. The twins were standing in the middle of the
pond clapping as their tutor skated by and then would turn sideways,
coming to a halt with a spray of ice crystals. He would then race
around the twins once again, his black hair trailing out behind him,
his laughter filling the air.
Shaking his head, Glorfindel turned away from the scene of play, to
make his way back to the barracks. He had work to do.
He halted in his tracks and turned around to face the scene once
again, when he heard his name called. Erestor was waving to him,
his face flushed and smiling. He waved back and turned to leave,
when he was called once more. Sighing, he looked at Erestor and
finally walked down to where the others were.
He walked to the edge of the pond, greeting those who called out
hello's to him. He watched as a flushed Erestor skated up to him,
his eyes shining brightly.
"Why do you not join us Glorfindel?"
Glorfindel snorted, "I do not think so Erestor."
Erestor tilted his head to the side, frowning slightly. "Surely
your duties are finished for the day, and besides, everyone but
those on duty are taking time off to enjoy this beautiful day." He
held out his hand. "Join me?"
Shaking his head, Glorfindel backed up a few steps. "I do not have
the wish to skate around upon ice. It would be folly. You all risk
injury by playing around like this."
A small smile appeared upon Erestor's lips and his eyes sparkled
once more. He moved closer to Glorfindel so no other could hear him
speak. "You do not know how to ice skate, do you my friend?"
Glorfindel could feel the tips of his ears turning red as he
blushed. The one who he desired most was teasing him, and he did
not know how to get away without embarassing himself. Erestor
smiled up at him and winked. He watched as Erestor was suddenly
skating backwards away from him, smirking.
He called out to him, "Worry not Glorfindel, we know that duty must
always come before pleasure. Maybe you can skate another time."
He sighed with relief. His secret love did not make a fool out of
him. He stared after Erestor for a few moments longer, then shook
his head and walked away, his ears filled with Erestor's laughter,
his mind filled with the memory of his flushed face and shining eyes.
~late that night~
Sighing Glorfindel got up to answer his door. Who would be coming
this late at night? He was just starting to undress, shrugging he
opened the door wearing naught but his leggings. He raised an
eyebrow at the intruder when he gasped and raked his eyes over
Glorfindel's toned body.
Crossing his arms, he leaned against the door jam and smiled with
amusement as the smaller Elf before him blushed. "What brings you
here at such a late hour Erestor."
Glorfindel watched with amusement as Erestor tried to compose
himself.
"I request that you get dressed Glorfindel."
"It is near midnight Erestor, why?"
"Please just do so, I will await you in the hall here. Dress
warmly."
Erestor started backing away, his eyes raking over the Seneschal's
body once again. Glorfindel rolled his eyes, and leaving the door
open, quickly donned his boots, tunic and a warm cloak. He stepped
out of his room, closing the door behind him.
"This had better be good Erestor."
Erestor bowed. "Follow me." Glorfindel was surprised to notice
Erestor not wearing a robe once again. He was in leggings, tunic and
cloak, carrying a satchel of some kind. He followed the darkling
Elf, out of the Last Homely House and into a moonlit night.
They walked for some minutes before Glorfindel grasped Erestor by
the arm, stopping him. He could clearly see his face, a face that
was flushed with the cold night air.
"Glorfindel, we are almost there. Why do you stop me?"
"We go no further until you tell me what this is about."
Sighing with exasperation, Erestor said, "`Tis a surprise
Glorfindel. Now come." Grasping Glorfindel's hand, he pulled the
blonde Elf along behind him.
Glorfindel groaned. "This had better be good Erestor. It is late
and you have pulled me away from a soft bed that was awaiting me."
Erestor turned laughing eyes to him. "I have checked the rosters
and you have the next ten-day off Glorfindel. Do not try to give me
any excuses."
Suddenly Erestor stopped and pointed. "Is it not beautiful?" He
whispered softly.
As Erestor tugged him forward, Glorfindel looked to where he had
pointed. It was the frozen pond that all enjoyed ice skating upon.
His breath caught at the beauty that he just realized, surrounded
them.
All was completely still and quiet, the animals at rest, the air
still. Ithil shone down fully upon the frozen ice and snow covered
ground, making the world around them seem to glow. Bare branched
trees and evergreens wore a dusting of white, and the pond looked
like a large frozen diamond before them. It was all cold,
crystalline beauty and Erestor was sharing it with him. He felt his
heart warm as Erestor turned shining, happy eyes to him once again.
Glorfindel now followed Erestor willingly, as they made their way to
the edge of the frozen pond, the only two creatures out on this
crisp but clear night. He looked up, Ithil shining just as crisply
and clearly, surrounded by thousands of stars. He looked down into
Erestor's eyes and found himself looking at the dark night sky once
again. Erestor smiled softly and then stepped away with a smile.
"Come Glorfindel."
"Why are we here Erestor?"
With dread he watched as Erestor lay down the satchel he had
brought, and brought out the blades that they used for ice skating.
He turned and started to walk away. He looked back over his
shoulder but once.
"No."
Erestor followed quickly and moved to stand in front of
him. "Please Glorfindel."
"No." Glorfindel sighed when he tried to move around the Elf before
him, only to find his way blocked once again.
He looked down into pleading eyes that were looking up at him.
Suddenly Erestor gasped and looked away, pointing. Glorfindel
looked to what he was pointing at, and watched wonderingly with
Erestor, the falling star that flew across the night sky.
"Make a wish Glorfindel." He heard murmured.
He muttered at the words, "I wish to not be a part of this folly."
"And I wish to someday, be able to ask you to skate with me." Was
softly whispered.
He turned his head sharply at the words, spoken with such want, only
to see Erestor's head down. Frowning he lifted Erestor's chin and
looked down into sad eyes. Sighing, he took Erestor's hand and led
him back to the pond and sat upon one of the benches surrounding
it.
"Tell me what I must do." He glared at the blades lying upon the
ground and then glared up at Erestor who was smiling brightly once
again.
"I will guide you, just trust me."
"It is not you that I do not trust, it is those...things."
Erestor laughed and sat down beside him, quickly strapping his
blades to his feet. He then knelt before Glorfindel and strapped
blades onto his feet as well. Standing back up he took a few steps
back and held out a hand.
"Just slowly stand Glorfindel. Pretend you are standing upon two
thin limbs of a tree."
Glorfindel was gently pulled to a standing position, wobbling
unsteadily as he got accustomed to the odd feeling. Grasping onto
Erestor's hand tightly, he took a tentative step forward, and then
another through the snow until he was standing at the pond's edge.
Erestor moved to his side and stepped onto the ice, Glorfindel
stepping onto it with caution. Then he refused to move further.
Erestor smiled softly up at him and squeezed his hand in support.
"Now just gently push off with one foot like this." Erestor let go
of his hand for a moment and showed him what to do, then quickly
came back to his side and offered his hand once more.
Glorfindel pushed off as shown, and with flailing arms, promptly
landed on his backside. He immediately reached for the lacings of
the blades, in order to remove them. Small soft hands stayed him.
He looked up into shining eyes and a softly smiling face.
"Even the best of skaters had to start somewhere Captain."
Sighing, Glorfindel allowed Erestor to pull him back up, wobbling
and grasping at the smaller Elf, to prevent himself from falling
once again. He slowly pushed off once more and glided before
starting to flail again. This time Erestor was waiting for it, and
helped him to regain his balance.
"Now try that again, only keep both legs going."
Glorfindel very successfully pushed off once again, brought his
other leg forward and quickly lost balance once again. He glared up
into laughing eyes and allowed himself to be pulled to his feet once
again.
After many trial and errors, he finally found himself in the middle
of the pond and Erestor was skating backwards away from him.
"Come to me Glorfindel, you can do it." The small elf smiled
cheekily. "I am even willing to give you a reward for your efforts."
Glorfindel raised an eyebrow. "What kind of reward?"
"Anything you wish."
"A kiss?"
"You...wish for a...kiss?"
"Aye, Erestor, I wish for a kiss for my efforts."
The small Elf blushed, his eyes twinkling. "Ok, a kiss. Come to me
and you shall receive a kiss."
Glorfindel set his jaw and with determination, pushed off. He
glided slowly and unsteadily forward and pushed once again,
continuing his hesitant movements until with triumph, he came to a
faultering hault in front of a grinning Advisor.
"Well done, Glorfindel!" Erestor praised.
Glorfindel blushed, feeling giddy and then his eyes darkened. "You
owe me a kiss Councilor."
Erestor blushed, "So I do." He tilted his face up and as Glorfindel
bent down, quickly kissed his cheek and was suddenly gliding away
from the blonde.
"That is no fair, Erestor." Glorfindel pouted.
Erestor laughed, the sound like tinkling bells as he slowly skated a
circle around Glorfindel. The blonde Elf tried to carefully keep him
in sight.
"Ah, but you asked for a kiss, and you recieved one Glorfindel."
Glorfindel snorted.
"Quit moving, you are making me dizzy."
Erestor immediately stopped, his head tilted as he smiled at
Glorfindel. He slowly skated up to Glorfindel and offered him his
hand. Gently tugging, he encouraged Glorfindel to skate forward and
moved with him. They slowly made their way around the pond several
times, Glorfindel's confidence rising with each pass.
Soon Glorfindel was laughing and skating slowly as Erestor skated
around him, teasing him by seemingly coming too close, acting like
he was going to fall himself, smiling in sheer joy of the beautiful
and magical night. A night they were both loathe to have end.
They both sat down upon a bench and started removing the blades upon
their feet, both grabbed for the satchel at once, their hands
connecting. Time seemed to freeze as they turned their heads and
looked at one another. Glorfindel watched as Erestor's eyes slowly
grew wide, his face reddening as he blushed. He looked down, but
not for long as Glorfindel brushed a finger beneath his chin, gently
lifting it.
Erestor licked his soft lips, Glorfindel's gaze following the trail
of his tongue, before lifting his blue eyes up once more to his. He
gasped softly as Glorfindel's lips closed over his own, and felt his
tongue ask for entrance. He opened willingly to the blonde, and
gently they kissed, tongues dancing a sensual dance with one another.
Glorfindel slowly pulled away, staring into the depths of Erestor's
eyes. Erestor looked down for a moment and then back up with a soft
smile.
"Come, let us get inside so that we may warm up." Erestor said
softly.
Glorfindel simply nodded. He grabbed the satchel, smiling when
Erestor took hold of his other hand as they walked slowly through
the snow back to the Last Homely House.
"Thank you Erestor, I had a wonderful time tonight." He said
softly. He walked the smaller Elf to his door. Erestor looked up
at him shyly.
"I have mulled wine within, would you care to join me in a glass?"
"Yes, I would enjoy that Erestor."
He was led into opulent rooms that were warm and inviting. Erestor
excused himself, stepping into the bathroom. When he came out,
Glorfindel's breath caught when Erestor came back out. He was
dressed in black satin sleep pants with a matching robe that was
belted at the waist. Burgandy stitching adorned the sleep wear, and
his hair was unbraided and brushed to a gleaming shine.
"Please, join me by the fire Glorfindel." He said softly.
Glorfindel removed his cloak and sat upon the rug across from
Erestor, watching as the small Elf prepared the mulled wine for
warming at the fire. When it was ready, he accepted a goblet from
Erestor with a small murmur of thanks.
They sat softly chatting about their day, laughing softly about what
had transpired this night, and sipped on their mulled wine. After
Erestor took another sip, Glorfindel noticed a drop lingering on the
corner of his mouth. He was drawn to that shimmering droplet,
leaning forward slowly to brush it away with his thumb as his hand
cupped a soft cheek.
Blue eyes met black as Erestor's breath caught. Glorfindel's eyes
darkened as he slowly leaned forward. Time seemed to stand still as
Glorfindel leaned over, getting up on his other hand and knees to
reach the soft succulent mouth. Lips parted slowly, inviting him to
delve in and taste, wine scented breaths mixing, before lips came
together.
Glorfindel moved the hand upon Erestor's cheek to twine in his hair
at the nape of his neck. Erestor's head tilted back, allowing
Glorfindel to deepen the kiss, while gently pushing until they were
both lying upon the carpet.
As he continued to kiss Erestor deeply, his hands started to roam
gently over the smaller Elf's body, blazing trails of fire through
the satin. Glorfindel gently pulled on the sash about Erestor's
waist, opening the thin robe and laying his upper body bare. He
moaned softly at the sight of the pale skin exposed to him, rosy
nipples tightening and begging to be devoured.
How could he deny such a request? He gently kissed and nipped his
way down to one and took it between his lips, suckling lightly.
Erestor arched beneath him, crying out softly and tangled his hands
tightly into Glorfindel's golden hair. Heat washed throught the
Seneschal at the passionate reaction and moved to the other.
Soon his lips were traveling down, tasting more of the flesh exposed
to him. His hands went to the sleep pants and slowly undid them.
With his soft coaxing, hips were raised so that he could slowly pull
the pants off, exposing his lover to him fully. Erestor lay gazing
up at him with lust filled eyes, spread upon the rugs in wanton
abandon. Panting Glorfindel quickly shed his clothing and lay
between the spread thighs of Erestor, their heated arousals coming
into contact and causing both to groan with need.
Before Glorfindel lost himself too much he whispered something about
oil and quickly got up and entered the bathing chambers. He grabbed
the first bottle of oil he saw and quickly made his way back to
Erestor. Kissing him deeply, he then slowly made his way down the
writhing body beneath him.
He coated his fingers and placed one at Erestor's entrance, teasing
it playfully and then took Erestor into his mouth. He thrust the
finger in slowly as he took his lover into his throat. Erestor
screamed and twisted his fingers almost painfully into Glorfindel's
hair. Slowly Glorfindel added a second finger, and then a third,
preparing his lover gently for what was to come.
"Please, Glorfindel." Came a soft plea.
Groaning, Glorfindel slicked oil onto himself while staring at the
writhing wanton beneath him. He guided himself to the prepared pink
opening and stayed himself.
"Are you sure of this Erestor? I do not take lover's lightly."
"Aye Glorfindel...please...make me...make me yours."
Glorfindel slid into the tight sheath that was Erestor, both Elves
crying out at the union. He angled his hips and with each thrust,
hit that special spot within his lover. He watched as Erestor's
head thrashed in ecstasy, both of them sheened with sweat as they
grew closer to their peak. Glorfindel reached down between them and
grasped Erestor in his hand. He stroked once, twice, and Erestor
screamed. His seed spilled over Glorfindel's hand, and his passage
milked him. Glorfindel cried out as he spilled himself within
Erestor and collapsed on top of him.
Both Elves lay panting harshly, slowly coming down from their
ecstatic high. Glorfindel raised his head and looked down into
loving black eyes. Gently he pulled from Erestor and made his way
to the bathing chambers and grabbed a wet cloth. He cleaned them
both up and then carried Erestor to his bed, where they continued
keeping each other warm, from the chill cold of the night.
~one year later~
Glorfindel stopped at the edge of the tree-line, watching as the
many Elves laughed gaily while ice skating. He shook his head while

He walked to the edge of the pond, greeting those who called out

his eyes shining brightly.
"Why do you not join us Glorfindel?"
Glorfindel stood for a moment thinking. Smiling suddenly, he bent
down to don his blades, skating out to his new husband after he had
done so. He skated up to Erestor and twirled him laughing in his
arms.
Work could wait.
